Luke Hubley
percussion

Luke Hubley is an active freelance percussionist who has performed with several area organizations including the Houston Grand Opera HGOco, Cantare Houston, and Opera Vista, with performances in the Wortham Center, the Houston Museum of Contemporary Art, the Menil Collection, the Bayou Bend Collection, the Austin Museum of Art, the Moody Mansion, Avant Garden, and Sam Houston Park during Houston’s renown iFest. He has performed in festival orchestras with the Festival Institute at Round Top and the Texas Music Festival. Luke is a contemporary music enthusiast who has enjoyed performing on premieres of works by Jack Perla, Paul Bissell, David Crumb, Somtow Sucharitkul, George Heatcho, and Hugh Lobel, and has performed with several new music ensembles including MUSIQUA, the Foundation for Modern Music, Audio Inversions, and AURA. Luke regularly collaborates with fellow percussionist Craig Hauschildt in a percussion duo. He is also an active music educator with teaching positions at San Jacinto College, Houston Community College and the University of Houston, where he is pursuing a Doctorate of Musical Arts in Percussion Performance. Luke is a recent recipient of a Young Artist Fellowship with Da Camera of Houston and is an in-demand clinician, and educator throughout the Houston area.
