Evy Pinto

Evy Pinto recently completed her Master’s Degree in Percussion Performance at Rice University, as a student of Richard Brown. She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Percussion Performance and completed additional studies at the Simon Bolivar Conservatory and the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales in Caracas, Venezuela. Additionally, she spent over twenty years studying, performing with, and teaching with the internationally-acclaimed Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra of Venezuela.
Evy has appeared at many of the leading festivals in the United States. These festivals include the Aspen Music Festival, the Hot Springs Music Festival, the Music Festival “De Las Americas” in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and the Sewanee Music Festival, where she was twice a winner in their Concerto Competition. Additional performances include appearances with the Miami Symphony and the Gran Mariscal de Ayacucho Symphony.
Evy currently teaches music at Liestman Elementary in the Alief School District. She resides in Houston, where she maintains an active performing and private teaching schedule.
