Timothy Peters

Timothy Peters began his violin studies at the age of four at the Preucil School of Music in Iowa City, Iowa. He received his Bachelor of Music Degree at the Cleveland Institute of Music and most recently, completed his Masters of Music Degree at Rice University, where he was a student of and teaching assistant to Kenneth Goldsmith.


An avid chamber musician, Mr. Peters was a founding member of the Brutini String Quartet, which was a prizewinner in the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. The quartet made their Carnegie Hall debut in 1999 as a participant in the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Seminar, and subsequently made their official New York recital debut on the prestigious Schneider Concert Series in Tishman Hall. While with the quartet, Mr. Peters worked with members of the Tokyo, Juilliard, Cleveland, Guarneri, Vermeer, Orion, and Cavani String Quartets. Other recent chamber music concerts include appearances with the international-prizewinning Enso String Quartet, and appearances with Norman Fischer and Leone Buyse in Houston.

Mr. Peters has performed with the Houston, San Diego, and San Antonio Symphonies, as well as the Houston Grand Opera, the Houston Ballet, the Sarasota Opera, and the Spoleto (USA) and Breckenridge Festival Orchestras. Mr. Peters’s many acclaimed solo performances include live appearances on NPR’s Prairie Home Companion Show, a recital on Cleveland’s WCLV-FM, concerto appearances with the Cedar Rapids and Waterloo Symphony Orchestras, and a concerto appearance with the Lexington (MI) Bach Festival.
