Tia Roper

Tia Roper has distinguished herself internationally as a symphonic, solo, and chamber musician holding principal flute positions in the New York String Orchestra, the Boston Civic Symphony Orchestra, and the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra in Japan. Ms. Roper has gathered many awards and honors having given concert performances in
Russia, Switzerland, Barbados, Japan, Venezuela, and the United States. She recently performed her Carnegie Hall debut in 2005 to much critical acclaim as the first-prize winner of the prestigious Artists International Debut Recital Award. A graduate of Juilliard Pre-College, the Manhattan School of Music and Boston University, Ms.
Roper holds her Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rutgers University where she studied with Bart Feller. As an active music educator, Ms. Roper is on the faculty of the Usdan Center for the Creative and Performing Arts in addition to the Bloomingdale School of Music.
