Kimi Kawashima

Kimi Kawashima has performed to critical acclaim as soloist, accompanist, and chamber musician. She recently served as performer and ‘curator’ for the Intermezzo Chamber Music in Salt Lake City. Other recent engagements have included performances of Peter Maxwell Davies’ Eight Songs for a Mad King with the Utah Symphony and conductor Keith Lockhart, as well as an all Schubert program with husband Jason Hardink for the NOVA Chamber Music Series. Ms. Kawashima performed the Concerto for Piano and Strings by Alfred Schnittke with Rice University’s Shepherd School Orchestra as the winner of the 2001 concerto competition. Currently, Ms. Kawashima is pursuing her Doctorate of Musical Arts degree in piano performance at the Shepherd School studying with Brian Connelly.
