Barbara Tucker’s artistry represents a unique vocal mixture of classical refinement with the spiritual conviction and sensitivity of a Texas-raised gospel stylist. Ms. Tucker has performed internationally, as well as throughout the United States. In 1969 Ms. Tucker performed her Carnegie Hall debut recital - the same year that she performed on Broadway in the Tony-Award wining play The Great White Hope starring James Earl Jones. In 2000 she was presented in recital on the Millennium Stage at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, Washington, D. C. In Houston, Ms. Tucker has been a regular anthem soloist for the former Houston Oilers, Houston Rockets, and was invited to sing at state funerals for Mickey Leland and Barbara Jordan.
