Christian Schubert

Christian Schubert has been a member of the Houston Symphony since his appointment by Maestro Christoph Eschenbach in 1996.  Other symphonic positions have included chairs in the Grant Park Symphony, Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Ravinia Festival Orchestra, the American Ballet Theater Orchestra, the Grand Teton Music Festival Orchestra, and the Schlesswig Holstein Musik Festival under the Baton of Maestro Leonard Bernstein.  His solo appearances have included performances with the Scandanavian Symphony, the Long Beach Mozart Festival, and the Southfield Symphony Orchestra.  Mr. Schubert has been featured in several recordings as both a soloist and symphonic player.  His playing has also been heard in various radio and television broadcasts.  A native of Los Angeles, Mr. Schubert is a graduate of Northwestern University. As a teacher, he has served on the faculties of North Park College in Chicago and the University of Houston.
